Some Time Off

So, long time no see, right? I guess I first need to apologize for being neglectful. I think the post a day experiment last November killed my creativity for blog writing and then with the holidays and craziness at work, this site just took a back seat. But, I have missed you all!

Unfortunately, I can’t say I’ll be back at it quite yet. While my creativity for blog writing has escaped out the window, my personal creativity has spiked in other ways. I auditioned for a couple plays here in town – an endeavor that didn’t quite pan out – and I also recently started a new novel. Why do you care? Well, for the month of April this site will still be on hiatus.

Camp NaNoWriMo

2013-Participant-Campfire-Circle-BadgeFor the next month I’m going to concentrate on finishing up my fictional life by going to virtual creative writing camp! I’ve signed up to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo. This session is a slight modification of the regular monthly session: we can set personal word count limits, so no 50,000 words hanging over my head.

If you’d like to support my novel-writing endeavors, you can head over to http://tabthoughts.wordpress.com this month. I’ll be posting regular updates to the word count as well as the ups-and-downs of writing a novel while working full-time and being a wife and mother to three!

Also, if you’re so inclined, I’m doing a little fundraising for this group with a personal donation page – www.stayclassy.org/tababcock. I have a modest goal, every little bit counts and it will help keep the gates open on this great camp. If you can spare a Lincoln, Hamilton or even a Jackson or Grant I would so appreciate it (and I’ll give donors special recognition here as well as on that site!)

Social Media for Social Good

Never fear! If I get inspired by the social media realm, I will add a post here and there. There are some great things happening out there and I want to be sure you’re on board with the ones that can help your events! Once the novel is done and my brain is freed from the muses holding it hostage, I’ll turn my writing powers back to doing social good in this world instead wreaking havoc in my fantasy world.

If you have any topics you’d like me to cover upon my return, please drop a comment below or send me an email at tababcock at Gmail dot com. Some outside inspiration is always helpful! 🙂
